Johanna Schultz
Managing Associate

Johanna Schultz joined CLS in the fall of 2007.  She brings to CLS a wide range of public affairs, journalism and nonprofit communications experience.  Her areas of expertise include Latin American politics and international affairs, Latino and immigration issues, and organizational management. 

Currently, Ms. Schultz provides strategic communications counsel and media relations expertise for a diverse client base that includes Americans For Secure Retirement, Genworth Financial Long Term Care, and politicians in Latin America.

Prior to her work at CLS, Ms. Schultz served as the Outreach Manager for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)’s Academy for Program/Project and Engineering Leadership.  Previous to that, Ms. Schultz was the communications and public relations associate for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where she managed both internal and external communications and media relations while serving as the speechwriter for the organization’s President & CEO.  Ms. Schultz has also been a journalist, both in her native Wisconsin and in Washington, D.C., in reporting and editorial roles.

Ms. Schultz received her MA in Latin American Studies from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and her BA in English and Spanish from Lawrence University.  She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.
