Marc Destito

Marc Destito has over ten years of international business experience in both the public and private sectors, with a concentration in global and domestic alcohol policy issues.

Mr. Destito currently works on a variety of public affairs and international accounts, providing strategic counsel on everything from media relations and branding to crisis communications and reputation management. Some of his clients include leading trade associations and government influencers such as the Beer Institute, the national trade association for the brewing industry, and leading European wine regions such as the Comité Interprofessionel du Vin de Champagne (CIVC), the trade association representing the Champagne region of France, and the Federación de Bodegas del Marco de Jerez (Fedejerez), the trade organization for all Sherry producers of the Jerez region of Spain. Mr. Destito also helped lead the effort to attract third party support for the merger of Sirius and XM Satellite Radio, which resulted in the merger’s approval by government regulators.

Prior to joining CLS, Mr. Destito worked as a communications strategist and media relations spokesperson for domestic and international clients at a boutique public relations firm in Washington, D.C. In this capacity, he helped develop strategy for aerospace clients and managed media relations for top leaders in the burgeoning private space tourism industry. Before this, he served as International Trade and Protocol Specialist with the New Jersey Department of Commerce, Division of International Trade, and as Special Assistant to the Governor during the Governor’s Trade Mission to the Republic of Mexico in 1998.

Mr. Destito earned a B.S. in International Politics and International Security Studies at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and earned a certificate in French Communication and European Politics at the Institut de Touraine in Tours, France. He has lived and traveled extensively throughout Latin America and Europe and speaks fluent French and Spanish.
