Shannon Hunt

Shannon Hunt brings to CLS a wide array of experience in public affairs, political communications, marketing/brand building and corporate communications.

Since joining CLS in 1998, Ms. Hunt has helped a variety of corporate and public affairs clients, including having overseen a large-scale corporate repositioning initiative on behalf of Lightning Source (a leading digital content provider), managing the Science Coalition (a group of 400+ universities and individuals united behind increased funding for scientific research) and leading merger communications for one of the country’s largest book wholesalers, Ingram Book Group.

In addition to her corporate and public affairs experience, Ms. Hunt also manages a number of the company’s international accounts including work in Europe, Latin America and Asia on behalf of various governmental and private sector interests. This has included work for the World Bank, the Prime Minister of Serbia, the Government of Brazil, and the Republic of Georgia – among others. With a specialty in Latin America, Ms. Hunt has also served as an advisor to several politicians across Latin America – for example Colombian President Alavaro Uribe in his 2002 landslide victory. She has also handled a number of high-profile international corporate issues including work for General Electric and a multi-national communications campaign on behalf of Cathay Pacific Airway’s pilots union.

In addition to her work at CLS, Ms. Hunt served in the cabinet of Governor Phil Bredesen (D-TN) managing his communications and external affairs. She also served as Bredesen’s press secretary when he was Mayor of Nashville and as Rep. Bob Clement’s press secretary and chief health care liaison. Ms. Hunt is the veteran of a number of political campaigns, including an issue-based referendum in Tennessee and a host of political races in the South.

Ms. Hunt is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and received a B.A. in Political Science and Public Relations.
